How to import a connection certificate
If you are based in a location where you are accessing the internet via a third parties connection, i.e. college, school, etc... then they may have a filtering system, which requires you to install a certificate. This certificate allows their system to check any web activity for profanity, threats, etc... Without the certificate, you will get a certificate warning on all websites and some apps may not access internet content.
Before following this FAQ, you will need the certificate the provider wants you to install. Liaise with them to obtain it. Save it somewhere on your computer, ready for the instructions below.
Internet Options
Click the Start button
Type Internet Options
Click Open
Go to Content tab
Click the Certificates button
Go to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab
Click the Import button
Certificate Install
Click Next
Click the Browse button and navigate to where you saved the certificate file from the provider
Then click Next twice, the Finish
If you get a Security Warning prompting to 'Do you want to install this certificate?', click Yes
Click Close, then OK
Restart all web browsers
