Before you can set-up your Macintyre supplied Android Phone, you first need to create a Google account, so you can download the necessary apps from the Google Play Store.

You may already have a personal Google Account, but as the phone has been provided by MacInyre, you need to create a MacIntyre specific account to use on it.

The below instructions detail how to do this and use your MacIntyre email address as the username.

If you have been supplied with an iOS device, you will need to create a MacIntyre Apple ID on the device. You can do this as part of the new device set-up process.

You may already have a personal Apple ID, but if the device has been provided by MacInyre, you need to create a MacIntyre specific account to use on it.

The Apple support document "Create an Apple ID" will guide you through how to create it.

Before turning the device on, on any computer go to https://accounts.google.com/signup/v2

Click 'Use my current email address instead'

Fill in your name, MacIntyre email address and password of your choice, then click 'Next'

Google will send you an email to verify the authenticity of the account

Login to your MacIntyre email account and open the email Google just sent you.

Enter the verification number in the email into the Google account set-up, then click 'Verify'

If you want to, enter your phone number; this used by Google or verification at other times; enter your date of birth and select an option for Gender, then click 'Next'

Read through the 'Privacy and Terms', choose which options you prefer for the below items; which are within the 'Privacy and Terms'; then at the bottom tick both options and click 'Create Account'. These options are because the Google account is for all Google services, which include the Play Store

* YouTube Search History

* YouTube Watch History

* Location History

* Voice & Audio Activity

Once you're on the Welcome page, the account creation is complete.

You can sign out of Google by clicking on the initial in the top right hand corner of the page, the click 'Sign out'
